Here are two screenshots where I experimented a bit more with lighting of a map. It was a lot of trial and error, but with a lot of helpful feedback I managed to improve myself. I worked only with standard RTP execpt for the walls for which I used the mack tileset. There is an equipment shop, an inn, a pub and a church. This was for a cover contest, in which I was voted first place.
I made the cover, expect for the generic gamecase graphics, and the three screenshots. Careful, the first image is pretty big. To show you some of my work that I did in the RPG Maker VX Ace editor without any custom tileset or postwork, here are three floors of a simple dungeon.
The first picture shows the entrance, this is the middle floor. The second picture shows the top floor with an additional exit to a mountain summit. The third picture shows ancient dungeons base pack free download slime cave, that can be accessed through the ground level. I wanted to try out the Wild West graphic set from the RPG Maker shop, so I made a map with it. However, I edited a lot of parts in photoshop, too. This was also done with parallax mapping.
